Privacy notice

This notice covers this website, the Instagram automation and your download link. The app has its own notice, under About & legal.

  • Who runs it. Life of Dan runs the automation, this website and the download links. Contact trimify@life-of-dan.dev.
  • What's collected, and why. When you comment TRIMIFY on the Trimify reel, Instagram passes your comment and account to Post Studio, the tool that sends the reply. Post Studio gives this website a scrambled form of your Instagram ID as your contact ID, which is used only to make your personal link and to send the same link again if you ask twice. The link records when it was made, when it expires and how many downloads it has used.
  • Who processes it. Meta (Instagram), Post Studio, Vercel (this website and Post Studio), Neon (Post Studio's database), Upstash (the database that holds links) and Amazon Web Services (file storage). Some of them are outside Australia.
  • How long it's kept. Your link, and a scrambled form of your contact ID, are deleted automatically when the link expires, 72 hours after it was sent. Post Studio keeps its scrambled form of your Instagram ID, with a record of each reply, for 30 days; if you reply STOP, it keeps that scrambled ID for good so it can keep honouring it. The website keeps only daily totals, such as how many links were sent and how many downloads started, which can't identify you. Vercel keeps short-lived request logs, which include IP addresses. Instagram keeps the conversation under its own terms.
  • This website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other sites; its fonts are served from here.
  • No mailing list. Your details aren't used for marketing, and there are no follow-up messages. Reply STOP in the chat and the automation won't message you again.
